Charles Gregory Ross (19??–2020), a renowned hairstylist in the film and television industries, died on April 8, 2020, from COVID-19, just two weeks after he tested positive for the coronavirus. He worked on films such as Remember the Titans (2000) and Drumline (2002), the musical drama Idlewild (2006), and the television movie Lackawanna Blues (2005), which resulted in his receiving an Emmy nomination. He worked extensively with actor Tyler Perry on films and several television series, including Tyler Perry's House of Payne, Madea Goes to Jail, and Meet the Browns. He also was personal hairstylist for Tyler Perry when he played the role of Colin Powell in Vice (2018). Charles, also a makeup artist, owned the Charles Gregory Blow Dry and Beauty Bar in Atlanta, Georgia. Before his death, he had most recently worked as the hair department head on two yet-to-be-released films: Zola and The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
