Track and field athlete Edwin Corley Moses (1955– ) won three Olympic medals for the 400-meter hurdles: gold at the 1976 Montreal (world record time) and 1984 Los Angeles games and bronze at the 1988 Seoul games. In the decade between 1977 and 1987, he dominated the 400-meter hurdle, winning 122 consecutive races. Although he earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, his career path has varied: sports administration, helping.to design a new drug testing program, and presiding over the International Amateur Athletic Association. In 1994, he earned a master's degree from Pepperdine University and was inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame. In 2000, he became chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy and, in 2008, he became the Honorary Chairman of the Major Taylor Association in Worcester, Massachusetts.
